FoxNews FakeNews is more than just comic relief for Americans who are still sentient. Lies can have consequences. (Duh … Look who Fox elected as President.)
Has everyone seen this recent story:
I thought CNN was the very model of bland non-partisan reporting. I guess any reporters who don’t grovel and beg to lick Trump’s **** are “Fake” now.
Has he come out politically as it were? I didn’t hear a motive really.
{QUOTE]Griesemer told a CNN operator, among other things, “Fake news. I’m coming to gun you all down.”

That’s not a clue?
He’s also admitted to calling in similar threats to a local Islamic center. I feel fairly comfortable going out on a limb and divining that he’s a Republican (or at least a Republican sympathizer).
It’s entirely possible that, after a year of Donald Trump - the PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES - repeatedly stating that CNN was “fake news” and that media that reported negative stories about him ought to be punished or shut down, the guy calling CNN “fake news” and threatening to shoot the staff could potentially be a diehard Bernie Sanders fan but I wouldn’t put any money on it.
Approximately half of all Republicans in a recent poll said “fake news” means news they don’t like, and I’ve talked to people like that.
Just yesterday a Trumpist I know wrote “fake news” in response to a CNN post saying that the White House was holding a press conference. I asked him “why would you say this? The White House IS holding a press conference?” He replied that CNN is all fake news because they “have an agenda.”
A pro-Trump comments thread on any social media is a mix of Russian bots and people for whom facts aren’t thing you need to worry about. People have always dismissed facts inconvenient to their politics, but Trumpists take it to the level of doublethink and self-delusion totally unprecedented in modern American history.
Dramatic car chase!
I wish I was kidding …
“We will deal with this tomorrow.” = “Shit, I need 24 hours to figure out how to spin this.”
That Sean Hannity clip is unbelievable. How anyone can watch that and not realize how much Fox News is nothing but a propaganda arm of the White House?
don’t be, fox “news” really IS all that bad and we need to remind people about it on a regular basis.
I’m ashamed to say that I used to watch that shit. Fortunately, I got better! Can’t stand it now. Hates it…

By being fooled by the propaganda.

It’s even worse perhaps than that clip. At the time the allegation pertains to (June of last year) Fox News was relentlessly running stories about how Mueller has a conflict of interest and that trump should fire him. One guest they had on suggested trump should do that a total of 39 times in one month.
Even if one were gullible enough to think there was no connection between trump and fox, that would still mean this “unthinkable fake news” allegation against trump was something they themselves were beating the drum for earlier in the year.

Apparently Fox News has been trolling students about Trump’s SOTU speech.

Campus Reform’s Cabot Phillips visited New York University last week to ask students what they thought about President Trump’s first official State of the Union address.
The only problem? The speech hasn’t happened yet.
That didn’t stop students from condemning Trump’s address, with some calling it “offensive” and “ridiculous.”
Note that Mr Phillips was definitely leading his targets on, but that doesn’t excuse them not knowing.
I for one never tire of the conservative media’s ongoing attempts to re-prove that adolescents are poorly informed and prone to offering opinions on topics they have not adequately studied. This is important work, and more time and effort should be directed to it. After that, I look forward to novel research into such questions as whether college students binge drink and whether they often overreact to the loss of a romantic relationship, resulting in a spike in the nation’s supply of bad poetry.
