I initially misinterpreted that. I was thinking of Queequeg. “I will defeat that Great Brown Whale that has been eating my dignity!” he railed at the rising waves.
I didn’t make myself clear enough. I’m focusing on that very last moment, even after the attempted segue into buh-bye. I’m thinking the message didn’t get through. I mean, when was the last time anybody cut him short? Anyway, what I think I heard was he was disconnected in mid-word.
Could be wrong, I suppose. Was wrong once in '74, when I thought I made a mistake.
About that interview …
Trump’s ‘Fox & Friends’ rant was beyond unhinged
The 53 most stunning lines from Donald Trump’s ‘Fox & Friends’ interview
From the first link:
Trump’s paranoia, a lifelong trait that he has admitted is part of his makeup, was so evident in his monologue that it constitutes a case study in delusion … As “Fox & Friends” co-host Brian Kilmeade then offered his own seemingly disconnected observation – “I’m not your doctor”-- he expressed what many viewers, including me, must have felt: Trump was on the verge of some sort of meltdown. He needed not an interviewer but an intervention.
I thought he was still talking as well. I loved the whole thing. It was epic. He must have put Kelly in a closet and shoved a door under the handle.
I think this is bit I heard:
He did eventually bow to reality and give up.
I just watched the ~60 second clip where Kilmeade says he’s not Trump’s doctor. It wasn’t quite out of the blue, but it was still frightening to watch. I hadn’t watched any of the interview before that. It was fucking nuts. It went on like that for twenty minutes?! Trump was off the rails. My bipolar father in law is more coherent when he’s manic. In the clip, Trump was pinballing back and forth between “I don’t watch them anymore” and “Did you see what X said?”, getting crazier and crazier, and Kilmeade had to break in and say, “I’m not your doctor, but I would recommend you watch less of them.” It fell to Brian Kilmeade, of all people, to be the voice of reason and try to talk the President of the United States down from a ledge. God help us all.
I have heard other reactions, like what I interpreted as him being cut off in mid word was more like he was making the sort of goodbye noises common to leaving off. Makes sense, considering the mandatory adoration requirement. They wouldn’t dare, and I can buy that.
Have we reached a verdict?
Yes: they really are that bad.
Its not like we exactly arrived at a consensus. But seems to me if someone can mock you by quoting verbatim, that’s some sorry ass shit right there.
Remember the good old days when all a man had to worry about was coexisting peacefully with the fish and putting food on his family?
I sure hope not.
Sorry I know this is going back a bit, but Tucker doing a segment on sex-crazed killer (probably…if they wanted to be) pandas, on the day Cohen got raided, deserves more comment than it got upthread.
Seems like an April fool’s, but it went out on 9th April.
Linking the Colbert clip because it gives some context (e.g. the fact he already did this story, as satire).
Pretty subtle and crafty, shoe-horning some Colbert into things. Sure, reality has a liberal bias, but humor is positively partisan. I am compelled, on principle, to disapprove. Tsk-tsk. Tut.
I think he was saying “Love you!..No, I love you more!.. No, you hang up… No, you… You…”
And this morning, foxnews.com is covered in “brink of mideast war” stories. The so-called president’s tactics are working. They are praying for a war at this point.
This is one of the most documented times of all of history.
I do wonder when historians look back, if there will be any disagreement, or if it will be a complete consensus that America chose to become belligerents in starting a war.
This certainly puts the kibosh on all that derp-state propaganda about helping Russia! Because Russia doesn’t sell oil! Well, OK, a little. A few barrels. Few million barrels. Nothing to see here, quit looking!
Don Jr. moving on from Vanessa with Fox host Kimberly Guilfoyle
The great forces of evil are uniting. LOL.
