Is Gaddafi worth Pitting?

Well, we would need a control. I propose we get Ahmadinejad.

He’s what Bill O’Reilly or Glenn Beck would be like if you gave them an Army and a country.

I just watched a film about how the media perpetuates stereotypes of Arabs as garishly weathy, evil, incompetent, and certifiably insane.

Sad to say that when I saw the footage of Gaddafi talking about rats and cats on hallucination drugs, I thought, “Maybe that stereotype is based on reality!”

Why would you say a thing like that? Glenn Beck and Qaddafi are nothing alike.

:stuck_out_tongue:

Instead of the pitting, why don’t we just hire the members of Spinal Tap to boot him in the ass?

Plus those glasses…

Johnny Depp… otism

Holy shit, warm a person, would you? I have a weak stomach and that loathsome slimeball is already wreaking havoc on it.

…And Qaddafi ain’t doing it any good, either.

Oh, and I also Pit whossname for having the silliest fashion sense of any tyrant since the Renaissance. Even Kim Jong Il dresses with more dignity.

But do you really want dignity in a tyrant? Isn’t it kind of nice when they wear signs, so to speak? It would make things so much easier.

Well, in Italy if there’s nothing on the telly it’s pretty much Berlusconi’s fault, given how much does he own or control.

Better?

Still one of my favorite Cecil quotes of all time.

Colonel Moammar Gaddafi
Is so certifiably daffy,
So sick and so thick,
They can kick, but he’ll stick
To his throne like an infant to taffy!

Or perhaps a clerihew:

Colonel Muammar Muhammad al-Gaddafi
Brotherly Leader and Guide of the First of September Great Revolution of the Socialist People’s Libyan Arab Jamahiriya (to afford him his full semi-official title, thick and chaffy)
Ain’t gonna go
'Til he’s food for kite and crow!

No-Fly-Zone-Plus resolution from the UNSC, Moammar! The bell tolls for thee! When he sees your fate, Mubarak is gonna be really glad he didn’t try to stick it out! And this is the first time I have ever wished Hosni Mubarak a moment of pleasure!

When tyrants tremble, sick with fear
And hear their death-knell ringing
When friends rejoice, both far and near
How can I keep from singing
In prison cell and dungeon vile
Our thoughts to them go winging
When friends by shame are undefiled
How can I keep from singing

– Traditional Quaker hymn

BTW, the Unitarian Universalist hymnal renders that line as “When tyrants tremble, when they hear / The bells of freedom ringing,” because we’re all a bunch of pussywimps.

Hey, Moammar! Take a look around! The rebels are in Brega! The rebels are in Zawiyah! The rebels are in Gharyan! Tripoli is cut off! NATO keeps bombing you! You have no friends left anywhere! The whole world is against you! Look, Moammar!

Not true, he still has a real friend in Der Commissar.

Kind of late for the nitpick, but I’ll point out anyway, that that song was actually written by a Baptist named Robert Lowry, in the 1860s. The verse you quoted was written by Doris Plemm, a friend of Pete Seeger, in the 1950s, as an anti-McCarthy verse.
