Is GOM the world's most sanctimonious weasel?

I must say that GOM has a very interesting debating technique when it comes to CvE. He declares that life is a “technology” and therefore must have been designed. Nice bit of circular reasoning there, eh? But the real killer is the fact that when people present detailed explanations of, and evidence for, the “technology” arising from evolution, he just declares yet again that nope, life is a technology, it’s too difficult for us to understand, so life was created by God and God must be really smart.
So much for weaselling. What about the sanctimony? Well, after I said this…

Yes, that’s right. GOM still presents no argument beyond “if you knew what you were talking about, it would be obvious that I am right.” Like they say, the average creationist has at most a high school education- but he knows more about astronomy than Sagan, more about paleontology than Gould, more about molecular genetics than Dawkins…

And, last but not least, he wishes me peace. Aaaah, peace. Hmmmm… GOM, if you really want people to be at peace, perhaps you could start by not jerking them around?

What do you hope to gain, GOM? Do you really think that you’re going to fool anyone? Do you really think that pretending that the evidence doesn’t exist is going to make it go away, or make it invisible to other people?

Ah, but wait- GOM has a good reason to not bother reading the evidence I present.

Never mind that GOM had said earlier that he would read my FAQ. Now he’s changed his mind, and is demanding that I get a refereed journal to publish my rebuttal to some creationist I met on the internet.

And yet, a discussion of GOM’s reek of sanctimony (produced, as we all know, by a special anal scent gland possessed by certain species of weasel) wouldn’t be complete without mention of this thread.

Mars Horizon criticised GOM’s behavior, and Polycarp vouched for him. I added my own two cents about GOM’s behavior on the Pizza Parlor. GOM then replied to Polycarp:

Thanks Poly, but unnecessary. I learned years ago that posts of that type have nothing to do with me and instead reflect entirely on the poster who uses that style. Although I might just skip over certain posts, I have discovered, when I read some of them, that I have to add additional people to my prayer list. Yes, naturally GOM has a right to be snappish. Mars Horizon criticises GOM, Poly defends him, and GOM replies that criticisms don’t bother him because he knows that some people just need Jesus. Why on earth would Mars Horizon think GOM is talking about him?

** Ben, ** give up. Seriously. Trying to convince a Creationist of anything which disagrees with his beliefs is like trying to talk a broken toaster into working again. It can’t be done.

I went to a Christian school, and have known and debated many Creationists. All it will do is frustrate and anger you. There is no evidence you can present and no argument logical enough to ever change their minds. Their beliefs are not based on evidence and logic and thus cannot be persuaded by them. Your carefully written and researched posts are a waste of time.

Let it go. All you can acomplish is an ulcer, and making the other person feel smug and proud that they have withstood your onslaughts. Over the years, I’ve seen Creationists come and go on this board. Some of them seem to sign up purely for some sort of Martyrdom Points.
