Is grey hair sexy?

If you have salt & pepper hair & you visit the store, do you buy the box of Grey or Black hair color?

I am but a mere 33 years old and still suffer from the odd pimple, along with the the theme of this thread. All I can offer for a solution is to bleach lighter streaks into your hair. My natural color is a dark black/brown color and since I noticed my gray was coming in only in certain places (looking as though I had paint or some other unmentionable substance in my hair) I bleached blond streaks in my hair. I started with one streak and now have four. I do get a lot of compliments on it, and the new errant strands of gray just look like a blonde escapee. I am starting to find the ocassional gray eyebrow though which does not bode well with me. I also think I noticed a silver streak in my nether thatch. I guess it’s time to get the razor and do a bit of “bush-whacking”. Btw imho, as far as men, graying at the temples is sexy, as is a nice all over gray.

46, male, salt and pepper hair. I don’t know if it’s sexy or not but I’m not about to go to all the trouble to color it. Mrs. Pluto doesn’t mind and she’s the only one who gets a vote.

My beard, however, is nearly white and when it grows out I look a LOT older. So my one concession to vanity is to go clean-shaven.

I will say that if grey hair is a sign of wisdom some people are smarter than they look.

Wow. There have been a lot of great posts here, leaning towards grey hair being great on men, and usually fine on women.

While I guess that looking “younger/attractive” is somewhat important to me, it’s more that being a redhead has been part of my persona for so long (The redhead with the big boobs :)) that it’s hard to let go of. And I don’t want to get to the point where I have an obvious dye job; so far, I don’t. Most people are surprised when I tell them my colour is not natural.

I certainly know some women who are completely grey and just beautiful. Right now, I think my hair would look sort of washed out and S&P if I went natural. I’ve actually thought of dyeing my hair completely grey just to see what that would look like! Woo, it would be scary to leave the house, though!

I’m doing very good thank you, I bought a new truck last week and had a date Sunday night, things are looking up.

Unfortunately I do not. My digital camera is pretty cheap and I doubt it would give a good representation of my hair color. My hair is extremely dark and thick and I doubt anybody would notice the grey unless they were in coversation distance of me. Some days it shows up alot, other days not so much, but looking in the mirror its easy to see the future. I am destined to be totally grey before all my older brothers and sisters. I am what I am and I refuse to interfere with nature when it comes to hair color.

Thank you both for your kind comments.

Well, not a big pile of it on the floor. But on an already sexy person? Oh yeah. Sexy.

:o

I’ve watched the barber’s apron over the years, noting with increasing alarm the amount of sheer white interspersed with my normal brown as the clippers do their thing.

I’ve tried dyeing it out, and have received compliments on my percieved youth when the gray (read: white) is washed right out of my hair. Still, when I look in the mirror with a dye job, I don’t see me.

My gray, I’ve learned to like it. I think it makes me look sexier than ever. I think most of you would agree.

Indeed.
