Hell no. I only noticed because, for trivial reasons, I wanted to know what the world’s eight-largest country was (I knew the top seven were Russia, Canada, China, the US, Brazil, and Australia). I only cared because I was grumpy yesterday, and virtually anything could set me off.

Grumpy? Anything could set you off? Sounds like you missed a real opportunity to “improve” Wikipedia.

I don’t think it’s stupid to include them both. I think for Note they should include something for World though, like, “It’s the whole world, dummy!”

The world is not a country, neither is Antarctica, seems stupid to me. A footnote maybe, but that’s it. If the whole world is a country according to someone, it would be a list with one item. If Antarctica is considered a country by someone, they don’t have much consensus backing for that. There may be a need for other footnotes, but including these two in the main list is stupid.
