Yes. End of thread.
Hmmm…
The most serious Chinese acquisition of nuclear secrets seems to have been the design of the W88 warhead. Best information is that they got it in the '80’s. Umm, sorry, I forget who was President and Vice-President then - could you remind me?
The best intelligence on the Sudan factory is that it was indeed making explosives for bin-Laden. The intelligence turned out to be faulty. The assertion that Clinton was trying to deflect attention from a story that had been in the news for the whole freaking YEAR doesn’t hold up - you could say that about anything he did.
Hmm, I also forget who first sent the troops into Somalia. Seems to me that happened in 1992, but I forget who was President then. Could you remind me of that too, while you’re at it?
What I found funniest about Perot on Larry King the other night was when he mentioned that he didn’t want a President doing “squirrelly things” in the office. That really cracked me up.
It’s poor planning.
G. Dubya had to know it was gonna come up sooner or later. When you’re running for prez these days, nothing stays secret during a campaign. But, it seems like G.W. was trying to act like it never happened and hoping no one would bring it up.
He should have mentioned it at the start of his campaign. That would have taken all the fire out of it, and he would have gained a little in my estimation. Now, it looks like he was trying to hide it, and all the finger-pointing at Gore looks like a failing attempt at control.
Thank you, panache45 for the answer to this Great Debate.
Now, comes the follow-up question: Why would Dubya want Perot’s endorsement?
Yes, a 24 year old misdemeanor DUI is a minor thing. Perjury, witness tampering, abuse of power, and violations of the federal Privacy Act by the President are not minor things. Nor, IMHO, are Gore’s repeated violations of campaign finance laws, despite the lack of “controlling legal authority,” “minor things.”
FTR, I believe Judge Wright found that Clinton perjured himself during his deposition and fined him $90,000. This is also the basis for his disbarment proceedings in Arkansas.

The things you cited above would be major if there were any factual basis to believe they occurred. I’m more impressed by the lack of concrete results by any of the highly-motivated investigations of the things you mention, and the many more you haven’t. Surely you’re aware of what a lack of facts really means: If you keep hurling an accusation without evidence to support it, and in the face of evidence to the contrary, that makes YOU a liar.
BTW 1: “No controlling legal authority” can be simply shortened to “legal”. Deal with it.
BTW 2: Judge Wright did not charge Clinton with perjury, much as you may like to think so. The basis for his Arkansas disbarment proceedings is a suit by one of Larry Klayman’s foundations (he’s worth looking into, as is Richard Mellon Scaife, if you’d like to know where these things keep coming from).
Sheesh, people, this whole board is about uncovering the truth - “fighting ignorance” as Cecil calls it. Can we please respect that spirit?

So, if, for example, I were to accuse a Florida public school of forcing a girl to stand in the back of the class because they didn’t have a desk for her, when in fact it was a very temporary situation that was corrected by noon, but I just didn’t have all the evidence, that would make me a liar?
Or, if I incorrectly compared an elderly woman’s drug costs to those of a dog, relying on hear say and not gathering the evidence, then I would be a liar too?
Or, just as a hypothetical situation, I were to claim responsibility for the creation of the internet, knowing that I only lobbied for it’s funding, then I could be accused of lying?

It’s just a game people. Try not to take it so seriously.
