Actually, AGP has been obsolete for years now. PCIe (short for PCI Express) is the current top-of-the-line interface for video cards (and certain other expansion cards).

So has the GeForce FX 5500. Easily be an AGP board.

True, but it’s the 10% that bites you. Suppose the OP were to buy a lovely new Geforce 260 and find that his PC was AGP? Or that while he did have a PCI Express slot, the PSU didn’t have the right connectors and wasn’t powerful enough anyway?
