Come ON UPS! It doesn’t take 3 freaking days to drive from California to Ohio! Get with the program, Google Maps says it only takes a day and 8 hours without unnecessary wastes of time like toilet breaks, food, and sleep! It should have been there YESTERDAY! I know your “scheduled delivery time” says December 12th but we all know that’s a CYA with lots of slack, right? Like say, 2 days worth?
HURRY UP AND GET THERE GRR GRRR
Ahh, your impatience does you a disservice. The Cosmos knows that you are eager for the arrival of [whatever it is] and will make you wait for an interval whose length is proportional to your apparent level of exciteability. On the other hand, when I ordered my new TV over the internet (I’m amazed that you can do this), I was studiously nonchalant about the delivery schedule. Thus, despite the fact that it had to come from some warehouse in California all the way here to the Missouri hinterlands, it took only 5 days, including a weekend. And when the nice dispatching lady from the local truck company called to make an appointment to bring it to my house, she started by saying it would be Tuesday or Wednesday. When I didn’t react with hostility or eagerness, she suddenly switched to Tuesday for sure. When all was said and done, she arranged for it to be delivered on Monday. Not once did I request anything earlier or quicker; that’s the only way to get things earlier and more quickly.
A watched kettle never boils.
A watched backdoor never opens.
Just forget about it. Let your thoughts flow, and one day it would surprise you.
Arrgh! I’m with you. We ordered a bunch of Heirloom seeds about two weeks ago and I’m getting impatient too. Dammit, i already made tomato cages and dug up the sod. *
- Florida. We start out gardens on Christmas and produce nearly year round.
I’m still waiting for a book from Toronto that I ordered on November 20.
At least you can blame UPS–I get to blame my mother. She is just now getting around to sending me stuff I asked for back in July. It gets here fast enough once it’s sent, but yeesh. I want my Ghost in the Shell back!
My Iphone is sitting at my local FedEx as we speak. It got there yesterday, but since I’m at work and not at home they had to keep it, couldn’t pick it up last night because of school so I have to wait until tonight. I WANT IT NOW!
Woohoo! It’s in HODGKINS, IN, US!
Just one state over now, that’s not too far is it? COmmmmmeon…
They should put GPS trackers on these trucks. Just so I can … encourage… them more vividly in my mind. GIT! GIT!
