On the boards, I mine. For some reason there seems to be a lot more grumpiness on the boards; low tolerance for humor, sniping for no good reason. Just more than usual.

Hey, it’s always a pleasure to see you at NADS. We’re much calmer there - people are only at each other’s throats about vegetarianism, smoking, children at weddings, sexism, maternity leave, and sexist vegetarian children on maternity leave smoking at weddings. Oh, and I’m calling for the impeachment of Tony Blair. Relatively relaxing, really.

It only takes a few people spewing bile to infect a whole thread, and that’s what we’ve been seeing from a few lately. And then, others respond to the unjustified gangrenous puss postings and then the original cretinous nimrod comes back even more sickeningly… Get the picture?
What to do about it? Well, a lot of this comes and goes in cycles, so we could just wait it out. Or, we could fight it with a righteous indignation of our own, or we could act so nice and fluffy that the offenders implode from their self imposed burden of constant assholewry.
Of course, if I had my late 30s style death ray (like I saw in a movie recently), I could just ZZZZzzzzzAP! the unevolved numbnuts causing the problems. Provided I could identify them. And get them to stand still for 3.7 seconds.

Not only on the boards, either. Everywhere I go - school, work, shopping - people seem to be in a generally pissy mood this week.
I don’t get it. The weather has been decent, there’s nothing too horrible going on around here, and it’s too late to be the back-to-school/work blues.
I might be a little grouchier but I don’t think I’ve gone overboard on anyone … although that guy in that thread - you know the guy - was getting on my nerves.
Now I’m going to be grumpy, because I have to clean up the wine I spit all over my computer.
I’ve noticed that a few posters do seem to have more urine than usual in their Post Toasties, yes, and a few others seem to have larger than usual bugs up their butts.
Obviously, we need to open a huge barrel of vanilla in here. I’ll just nip out to the health food store and pick up some essential oils.
I think it’s an end of the summer/beginning of fall thing. When I worked for the power company and had to go door-to-door talking to customers, this was hands-down the worst time of year. People were generally less cooperative, more argumentative and aggressive, and the roads actually become much more dangerous.
I don’t know why, but it is something I’ve noticed for years now. Didn’t realize it would apply to the boards, too.

I like to think of it as the wrong time of the election cycle. Some people just get PNS.
Yeah, they have been. It’s the main reason I started this thread. I needed some relief from the nastiness.
There have been times when I could have really snarked at someone’s dumbass comments, but I chose to deflect the whole thing with humor or to veer off into some other area. Why? Because I’d just rather not get into postin’ fisticuffs, IF you all don’t mind!!!
