I feel like over the past two months or so, the Dope hasn’t really had the usual concentration of new threads. Or perhaps the newest threads don’t include topics of interest to me? I don’t know. Does anyone feel the same?
I think it’s just that the topics aren’t interesting to you. I’ve hit the same thing on occasion, and the numbers seem to be the same, frequency-wise. The Dope just isn’t as entertaining sometimes. Neither is anything else.
IOW, it’s you. 
I’ve felt the same since the end of election and baseball season.
Enough analysis, let’s find someone to blame.
I was just talking about this offline with a couple of dopers this week. It’s a sine wave and we’re feeding at the trough. If only some craven schmucks would start personally judging others based on scant anecdotal evidence. But nooooooo…
The boards have never been as good as they used to be.
I know my rate of postings and esp. new threads has dropped off quite a bit (have more on my plate than usual in my non-Dope life…).

w.r.t. the o.p., I’ve been of somewhat the same opinion. I returned after a several month hiatus specifically in response to a request to address some technical thread, but despite browsing through new threads four or five times a week I find little that is of interest, and much that doesn’t rise above the level of inane jabber and petty bickering, even in threads that have are initiated as a question resolved by a factual answer.

I feel the same way. It seems like the new threads don’t get much interest but the old ones running 9 plus pages are still at the top of the list. I think the end of the election has a lot to do with it. No more interesting “What if there is a tie in the EC; What if Obama dies before the EC meets; Can Bill Clinton be VP; etc”
Those were the threads I liked, but are gone now…
What if Prince William and Kate have a child, but it turns out Harry was the father. Where would it stand in the line of succession?
