Your picture is a good example of why I’m glad we have to click a link. In fact, it’s usually nice for us to give an indication of what the picture will be in advance, too. If I’d known it was a scary picture of Megan Fox, I’d have avoided it.
Although, to be fair, there is a rather large clue in the link as to what to expect.

Is this an age thing? Because it never would have occurred to me.
I don’t know that aldiboronti meant anything more than a picture of someone named Megan and presumably someone famous* because why would we care about the OPs beloved aunt Megan or whomever.
*We can take it as read that if the picture is of a famous Megan, it will be a scary picture as all famous Megans are known to be scary. Actually other than Megan Mullally, I can’t think of any other famous Megans so maybe he did mean that we’d immediately think of Megan Fox.
You have provided good info and you have done it in a very effective and funny way. I appreciate the humor even though I love the way she looks. I just wish I could meet a girl that looked like her but was mute. (because if she were mute that would provmise much fewer headaches for me).

The scariest Megan I know is Megan Hauserman.
BEWARE!! The following link is to a very scary blonde lady named Megan Hauserman. But there is no nudity involved.
She has appeared on several national Reality TV shows that I can recall. They were:
Beauty & The Geek, Rock of Love with Bret Michaels, I Love Money, Rock of Love: Charm School and Megan Wants a Millionaire.
She has also appeared on: The Great Debate, Sexiest Women of Reality TV, Playboy’s TV Badass and True Crime with Aphrodite Jones.
The vast majority of contestants on reality TV shows appear on just one such show. A tiny handfull appear on two, three or maybe four such shows. I know of no other contestant who has appeared on any number of shows approcching the number that this Megan has appeared.
If you recall any of her early appearances, I think you will understand why I think she is so scary. She is very scary indeed.

There is a Greasemonkey script written by SDMB user Polerius that posters can install that will display images inline here. I use that script, which is how I saw the Megan Fox image without clicking on the link. Of course, only users of that script will see inline images. DISCLAIMER: use at your own risk, etc.

If you use the Tapatalk app pictures are immediately visible in posts (even if they appear as links on a browser).
That would be a nice place to put viruses. 
Images are turned on in the Marketplace…but this is only for subscribing/paying members and obviously only so that people can see what you’re selling/wanting to buy.
How much is a used Megan Fox going for these days?
It seems to me that is an excellent reason for the administrators here to have turned off that feature and I can think of others as well.
You can’t get a virus from displaying/downloading an image file like a .jpg/.gif/etc. - which are the only types of files that would be automatically displayed, were that to be turned on by the admins.
There are plenty of other, valid reasons for not displaying images (which I agree with), but viruses isn’t one of them.
Unless the software you’re using to render it..your web browser, most likely, has a bug that someone exploits.
