Is it possible to save a desktop configuration

I have a Tablet PC and I want to know if its possible to save a desktop configuration. What happens is that when I switch from laptop mode, to slate mode, and back, the icons, widgets and Google desktop stuff I have on my desktop gets out of alignment. See:

Is there a way to save the desktop layout in the proper configuration? Bonus points if there is a way for it to automatically switch between layouts depending on whether I am in slate mode or not.

Running XP?
Right click on desktop, “Save As Scheme”. It asks for a name for the scheme so you should be able to save a “laptop mode” and a “slate mode” (but I’m sure it only gonna remember the position of your desktop icons!).

I’m running XP but I don’t see that option when I right click on the desktop.

Nor I.

There’s a neat little utility that I use called DIManager.

It lets you save/restore named desktop icon schemes.

I also don’t get the “Save as Scheme” on the desktop context menu - could it be an extra from some other piece of software? I’d particularly suspect graphics drivers of adding this kind of thing.

Yup, it’s grouped with graphics options and display modes. I thought it was a XP function. :smack:

Thanks a bunch.
