Are you trying to start a train wreck, here?
I agree with most. If you bring your own, bring enough to share.

Same in my world. Ren Faire people and Dickensian actors seem to be fueled exclusively by ethanol, and it’s a rare gathering when the guests have not brought along several different beers, spirits or wines.
There is much sharing and offering of tastes, especially when someone’s brought along some of their latest homebrew. Much more interesting than having everyone drink the same stuff.
I’m from the Midwest and can attest to this. About the only people that can get away with not bringing something are children.
I guess I’m fortunate that most of the places I get invited to consider mass-produced domestic light beers to be “pretty okay shit” (which is really good in their opinion) while my rich, dark, and lovely double bocks and stouts are considered horse piss that you couldn’t pay them to drink.
So how did the party go ?
Declan
An awful lot of people like drinking stuff like Coors and Bud over Sam Adams.
It was enjoyable. I didn’t take my own beer - the host more than once stated that he had “lots of beer.”
However, even though he didn’t have my brand, he did have some non-light beer and I was mostly content.
No way, man! That would be wrong!
(We haven’t done the “shoes off in the house” thing for awhile - maybe it’s time again. )
I’m so lucky to live in Portland…never been to a party here with crappy beer. So many good microbrews to choose from. One party I went to even had 2 kegs of microbrew.
I also hate coors, bud, etc. light or otherwise. Yep, I’m a total beer snob.
Damn straight I would bring something decent to a party offering only beer like that. And bring enough to share, of course. Even when I know the beer will be good, I’d bring some to share and leave it for the host/ess.
If I thought anyone would be insulted by me bringing something else, I’d just drink some myself before going and skip the party beer.
