Is it still legal to duel in Corsica?

In or around 1987-1990, a friend of my brother fell in love with a woman from Corsica and ended up marrying her and moving there. One of the interesting tidbits he shared was that it was legal to duel in Corsica. Is this an accurate statement? Is it legal to duel in Corsica?

On a hypothetical note, if I and another person were pissed off at each other, could we fly to corsica and legally fight to the death?

Thanks for the info!

I really doubt that duelling is legal in ANY part of France, including Corsica. It was banned by Henry II, and was made punishable by death by Louis XIV. Considering that they don’t even have a death penalty anymore, other forms of state-sanctioned homicide seem … unlikely.

I’ll forge a message from a “high gov’t official” to Chris Matthews, saying I have a lead on a breaking story and to meet me infront of the Capital building in Ajjacio at midnight. Someone else figure a way to lure Zell-Miller there. I’ll leave two sabers on the capitol steps just beforehand, then we can tape the results and sell it as somesort of reallity TV thing

The UAW, Corsican style: Are youse kiddin’?! I can’t stab Jaques without fillin’ out a form.
