Is it too early to discuss Christmas music? I have 22 hours of it.

I was looking at the music I have saved on my computer and discovered that I have 22 hours of Christmas music! Brian Setzer, Harry Connick, The Moody Blues, Mannheim Steamroller, and a bunch of various others. I put it all on HD so we could have music during the holidays and not change discs and I’m still going to add more. I just happened across this Big Bad Voodoo Daddy CD which has the Heat Miser song! That’s got to be some hot stuff!

Can’t have one Miser without the other though. If only I could find a Snow Miser song other than the one on here.

I suppose I could go with the original version but for $23.95?

A pox upon your house!!!

Yes, it is MUCH too early to discuss Christmas music. It’s not even Halloween yet! Please, please, please wait until after Thanksgiving.

Got that covered, too.

Oh, and “Jingle Bells” was originally a Thanksgiving song.

Do you by any chance have a cite for that? I just love that little bit of information and would love to be able to spread it. I also like Jingle Bells.

I’m going to have to re-enter all my Christmas music because my hard drive crashed this summer. I also have lots. Including Christmas bagpipe music.

It didn’t take long to find this site:

There’s this Wikipedia article, for starters.

I have a dozen or so different versions of this song. The Brian Setzer Orchestra version has got to be the coolest, followed by Santo & Johnny’s “Twistin’ Bells”.

I just picked up The Barenaked Ladies Christmas album, “Barenaked for Christmas” which has some cool stuff on it. Including “O Holy Night” done on a cheesy old basement-quality organ with drum machine.

It’s never too early. Or too late.

Too much Christmas music is never enough. 22 hours? Bah! Amateur!

Do you have the Excelsis series from Projekt?

At least wait until no earlier than Thanksgiving day. I won’t play any Christmas music, not even my beloved Charlie Brown Christmas, until then.

Hmminteresting.

Quite right. Unfortunately, I’m not the only one at home who has Christmas music; the better than half of what I copied belongs to my better half. I hope we can at least avoid the “when to put up the lights” discussion this year.
