is it true that minutes is actually spelled m-u-n-i-t-e-s?

I remember always seeing and spelling it that way as a little kid.

Munites —> minutes. Changed it in 98. They told us all not to tell you.

I still forget and write “munites” sometimes. Glad to know I’m not the only one.

What if C-A-T really spelled “Dog”? Makes you think doesn’t it?

Welcome to the Straight Dope Message Board. Don’t know how long it’ll be free though.
Used to live in Omaha, had a girl friend in Nebraska City. Hated the damned winter’s tho.

Oh, it’s true…

and “Knowledge” really starts with “N”, not “K”, which, as a husker fan, you probably already know…

What about “minute”? Did you spell it “munite”? How did you pronounce it?

k i might as well not look at this anymore. i know it was a dumb question. i just had to see what kinds of answers you morons would put.

That makes us big husker fans.

You’ll do real well here.

And speaking of big huskers,

why don’t you come over to the pit for one?

Nebraska—pah!!
Go Mizzou!!!

This doesn’t belong here, so I’m closing the thread. Husker, please take this as a warning that we don’t appreciate this kind of thing around here. - Jill
