Is it unreasonable to be miffed with an Amazon reseller...

…who refuses to ship your purchase by First Class or Priority Mail and you’ll pay the freight?

I bought a DVD and immediately wrote to the vendor asking for such service. Got a refusal.

I’m a little pissed because it’s a tutorial DVD (on a Cannon Rebel XTi) which I could use yesterday.

Just wondering if I’m being a dickhead.

I’m not sure if I’d be miffed or not. How would you have paid for the shipping upgrade? It would require a second transaction, since you’d already and bought and paid for the item with standard shipping.

You should have purchased from a Seller that offered this, & paid the fee.

Amazon takes a hefty cut of sales fees, you know, & small sellers just can’t afford this stuff.

I know. I’m a 5 Star, 100% Rated Seller. I often ship sooner than Amazon does. I bend over backwards, shipping from the Post Office Sorting Center near Nashville International. This clips a day or two off shipping times, & is not too far from where I work.

But shipping costs, & a very low priced item, sent by 1st Class, could wipe out my profit on many items.

I don’t think it is reasonable to be miffed that they wouldn’t provide a service that they didn’t advertise. Bosda could probably give you more detail on being an amazon reseller, but maybe it would cost them more time and money than you are aware of. Is there no way to find out if they can ship 1st Class before you buy? I thought the shipping terms were clearly stated on the website?

I said I’d have paid for the S&H.

Anyway, what’s your website, please?

Yes it’s unreasonable. It wasn’t a service offered by the vendor so it’s not fair of you to be miffed when the vendor doesn’t do it!

Do you walk into McDonalds and say “I want a steak, and I’m prepared to pay!”?

I don’t have my own, & anyway, listing it would violate the SDMB spamming policy.
