Is Katie Couric always rude as hell?

For a second I thought you were talking about the cotton pony.

Brilliant! I’ve always thought she was a horrid little garden gnome, but evil Muppet is even better. It’s the beady little eyes.

Bryant Gumball is an ass but at least he’s honest in his assholishness. Katie Couric pretends to be whatever she believes will most efficiently rip an interesting interview out of a guest. That she does so, so very quickly and seamlessly, creeps me out.

She’s also rumored to be a total ass off camera as well.

Despite very specific instructions against it, Couric smuggled a video camera into Donald Trump’s wedding this weekend.

She thought it was funny. Matt Lauer joined the hijinks.

Idiots.

Heh… when I saw this thread I assumed it was about the hidden camera at trump’s wedding. I was watching one of those entertainment tonight type shows (access hollywood? I dunno…), and they were showing katie and her hidden camera.

I don’t know much about kouric… but I thought it was incredibly rude to be invited to a wedding, and the host asks that no cameras be brought inside. So not only does this bitch bring a camera in, she actually sells/provides the footage to television shows. What a distasteful specimen she is.

Whether Trump is a jackass or not I’ll leave to others to decide, but when someone invites you to their wedding, either respect their simple requests or don’t attend.

I would just like to state that I hate morning news programs in general, but Katie and Matt have done great damage to this country by dumbing down the housewives of America. Also, Regis and the flakes that have been his sidekicks need to be brought up with Matt and Katie for crimes against humanity.
That’s all.

She often makes inappropriate comments and acts incredibly unjournalistic at times. I cannot believe she is being considered for a primetime anchor spot.

I don’t have any comment on the incident that sparked this thread, but just thought I’d toss this in: Some cable channel (can’t remember–USA, A&E) is soon airing a “100 Greatest Americans” special … in the commercial, they have people saying names of famous Americans:

“Martin Luther King”

“George Washington”

“Katie Couric”
WTF? How is she a great American? She’s not even a great TV host or journalist.

I was just sitting here watching the today show and she is currently interviewing Donald and Melania Trump.

She asked Melania about her dress and said, “Now, I heard it weighed 50lbs, that’s like…what? Almost you!”

Melania and Donald both just kind of looked and Melania said, “Well, I weigh quite a bit more then that.”

Apparently Katie rigged up a camera in her purse to record their entire wedding- classy.

Slightly off topic: But did anyone watch Katie’s “411 on Teens and Sex” last night?

What was up with her interviewing these kids in a tight pink sweater, tight jeans and barefoot? I understand the whole idea of putting them at ease when they’re talking about sex, but why try dressing and acting like a teenager? I thought she just looked ridiculous. And I’ve never had a problem with KC before, even on Today, but this just turned me off.

The whole time I was thinking, ‘CBS wants her to anchor the news??’ Yet another reason for me not to watch CBS.

I’m with Murcielago on this one. I don’t know if she was summoned from some dungeon dimension or birthed out of mud and fire like some makeup-ed and coiffed orc, but human, she ain’t.

I’m not sure where she got her journalism degree, but even her non-offensive questions are inane and seemingly designed to make her interviewee shut up as soon as possible so that she can talk about herself some more (WTF? Who cares about your fucking shoe collection?)

Although I did laugh at this exchange her last Friends interview (paraphrased and from memory):

Katie (to Matthew Perry): So how do you feel about your future after friends?
Perry: I’m excited, but a little trepidatious too.
Katie: But don’t you feel a bit nervous or scared?
Perry: That is the standard definition of trepidatious, yes.

Score one for Perry

 Yes, I remember that one. I’ve always had a bit of a silly school-girl type crush on Perry, and that exchange made me love him all the more.

Yes!!! She was just trying TOO hard. That show made me laugh. I’m only 19, so I’m not that far out of the loops, I don’t think anyone EVER asked me about oral sex in the 6th grade! I remember in 6th grade, I thought sex was making out.

Maybe if she wasn’t so damn fat…

After hearing about that remark I think better of Bryant Gumbel. Buchanan is an unrepentant racist anti-Semite who ought to been banned from mainstream television a long time ago.

That’s what irritates me the most about her: she spends the majority of any interview talking about herself. She interrupts her guests, cuts them off, and thinks we’re more interested in her answers to her questions than theirs.

Couric: “How did you feel when (whatever) happened to you?”
Guest: “Well, I-”
Couric: “Because I know I’d be such-n-such if it happened to me. Didn’t you just feel the same way I would have? I mean, I can’t imagine anyone feeling different than I would. Didn’t you feel that way, too?”

I never tell my tv to shut up more than when she’s interviewing somebody. Three-fourths of her interviews are her talking. Hey, Katie! They’re being interviewed, you are not. Try listening for a change…y’know, just for variety.

And shut yer freakin’ yap.

I guess I only see her about 3 times a year, when I hom sick and for some reason not watching sports center, but I’ve always found her kind of bitchy, but I like it. She just says what pops into her head.

She doesn’t seem so “cookie cutter” and polished to me.

Although one time she was interviewing John Grisham (this was in prime time) and he just finished describing how he coached his son’s little league team and still liked to eat in the local mom & pop diner and all this idyllic small town stuff, and then she basically says, “but don’t you just want to live in LA with all the beautiful people?”

It was the most clueless, self-absorbed thing I’ve ever heard.

This was years ago. It kind of illustrates what I do and don’t like about her though. Self-absorbed, but very spontaneous.
