Spacey Sets the Record Straight. A two year old story but that’s as much searching as I’m going to do as I don’t really care if he is or not. He’s an actor and the only thing I think you should be worrying about is if he can play a gay man.
He did bring his mother to the Oscars thought 
That always happens when there is a rumor, then that person doesn’t flat out deny it, or gives a ‘who cares’ response.
Same thing is going on with David Hyde Pierce.
Kevin Spacey–Who knows? He’s a single man in his 40s who brought his mom to the Oscars, so the Magic 8-Ball is leaning towards “Yes.” On the other hand, maybe he’s attracted to fish, like Troy McClure.
David Hyde Pierce is definitely gay. He lives with his partner in the Silverlake area of West Hollywood, but he keeps his personal life private.
Sean Hayes is gay, but he keeps a public silence on the issue because he doesn’t want to be stereotyped as “the flaming gay guy.”
Interestingly, only two of the actors on Queer as Folk–the actors who play Emmett and Justin–are gay. The rest are all hetero.
There are some openly gay actors, like Dan Butler, who plays the macho sportscaster on Frasier, but most stay closeted for fear that they would not be able to get good roles if they came out.
I don’t see why it matters if a celebrity is hetero or homo. After all, it isn’t as if any of us are going to score with a gay celebrity. I also don’t feel the need to identify with anyone famous, so it’s immaterial if a given star plays on my team.

He IS appreciating all the attention he’s getting from ladies trying to “turn” him as a result of his letting the rumours just flourish.
But the guy’s got the right idea in essentially saying “I’m an actor. So let me act. What does my private life have to do with ANYthing?”
I’m with the “who cares?” camp.

There are some actors, that when I hear the rumor, I have a hard time buying them in a hetero romantic lead. That’s not their problem, of course. It’s mine. The one actor I haven’t had that problem with is Kevin Spacey. He is too f*cking cool for that to be a problem.
He’s a good actor.

Enderw24, look for Carrey this fall in “The Rialto.” Entertainment Weekly gave it a page in its latest issue, and the buzz around Hollywood is that it will burnish Carrey’s reputation for playing dramatic roles.

If Spacey was gay and wanted it public knowledge, then it would be public knowledge, not rumors. Whether he’s gay or not (and the answer, per Spacey himself has been answered in this thread, is “not gay”), it’s Spacey’s life and no one else’s place to “out” him. That’s what’s with all of us crybabies.
*I meant to add this at the bottom of my last post - I have heard no such rumors about handsomeharry, nor do I care one way or the other. I put his name in the OP title to make a point.
