I recall when they did the 70’s version they built a giant leg for some scenes that was said to be out of scale with the face in the window and girl in the hand scenes.
I also think in the original film Kong got bigger when he arrived in New York, so even that movie wasn’t consistent.
His size stays pretty consistent. Although they say he is 25 feet and he is clearly bigger than that. Maybe, when he is sitting down he is 25 feet.
I was very dissatisfied with the lack of consistency of the Hobbits’ size in Jackson’s Rings movies.
I take it(his size) as artistic license, like Batman’s cape.Kong is larger than life
I think sometimes they just squatted on their knees and sometimes they had to graphic the furry feet. When they did that they had to move the waistline as well.
I was thinking today about how Kong’s size has changed in different incarnations of his story. Press materials for the 2005 film have his size at 24 or 25 feet. However, the theme song of the 1960s Rankin-Bass cartoon, now available on DVD, says that King Kong is “ten times the size of a man.” If the average human is 5 or 6 feet tall, that would put Kong at 50 or 60 feet. In King Kong vs. Godzilla, Kong is shown as being about the same size as Godzilla. (For argument’s sake, the Empire State Building is 1,455 feet tall with antenna, 1,250 without.)
Speaking of apes, how tall is Donkey Kong? They fought in court in the 1980s, who would win in a real fight?
Donkey Kong is, at most, about 12 feet, since he’s barely twice as tall as Mario.
