Is Lance Armstrong about to admit he cheated?

Kind of called this one:

Lance Armstrong lied to Oprah, says doping chief

That said, if you read the article, there is also talk of a possible reduction to his lifetime ban if he fully cooperates with the USADA.

So I still think it was a two-pronged lie.

Armstrong also said he refuses to cooperate with any investigation by USADA but would work with a “truth and reconciliation commission,” which seems to be an idea he made up for the Oprah interview. I assume the difference is that if there were a commission of that type, what he says couldn’t be used against him.* USADA wouldn’t agree to that kind of crap, and besides, fuck USADA - they didn’t believe the great Lance Armstrong! What’s wrong with them!

*I’m oversimplifying what they did in South Africa a little bit here, but when Armstrong throws this idea out there, I think it’s clear he is saying he would tell the truth and sell out everybody else only if it could be guaranteed that he wouldn’t face further sanctions and wouldn’t be hit with any more lawsuit or any perjury charges.

Agassi was shocked that Armstrong came clean and admitted to cheating but what shocked me is that he came clean at all, given his years of forceful denials and going after people for telling the truth. Yet, he won’t come completely clean for the later years where he can face legal charges. Still wants to control things.

Exactly. With overwhelming evidence against him, he had no other choice. But he still wants something for him. He still doesn’t understand why he is not a world beloved figure – after all, he was playing in a ‘level field.’

Ego, thy name is Lance.

And now for some gratuitous fun at Lance’s expense:

whomever edited that is an example of falling out of the genius tree and hitting every branch!

Armstrong now says he won’t cooperate with the USADA investigation: http://www.cnn.com/2013/02/20/us/armstrong-investigation/index.html?hpt=hp_t2

Jerk.
