is laughter really the best medicine?

and has anyone ever heard of or done laughter-yoga ?

Myself, I still swear by penicillin.

Resolved: medicine is the best medicine.

Well there is perspective here, look at Youtube and the stupid accidents, they are funny except when they happen to me.

You mean Hasyayoga? Nope.

It’s great for your state of mind.

It may not be as effective for a severed artery.

If the Reader’s Digest says it, it must be true.

I don’t think you can get a pill for that, but “laughter is the best tourniquet” doesn’t exactly trip off the tongue either.

No one remembers the story of Norman Cousins, the long-time editor of the Saturday Review, diagnosed with a serious, progressive illness, who decided to see just how well laughter worked? Actually, it worked pretty damn well for him. And there actually have been a few other studies.

I think it’s pretty well established that the state of the patients mind can affect recovery. However, I doubt anyone with diabetes would say laughter is more effective than a shot of insulin.

It’s a poetic saying, it’s not meant to be taken literally.

I disagree, I think they’re hilarious.

snerk!

Ooh, my triglycerides just went down! Thanks, BMalion.
