He’s 72, but that can still be a pretty spry age. I haven’t seen him in anything since the Deadwood movie.
Dunno if he’s retired or is protecting himself from covid of just hasn’t done much lately, but I haven’t ever seen him in a role I didn’t like (I may have hated the character, but that’s a credit to the actor).
I have no idea, but will just add that I happened to chance meet Mr. Rippy some years ago when he was appearing in “Under the Dome.” I was on vacation walking my dog, and as we passed by, this homeless looking guy spoke to us. It was Leon Rippy, and we had a 10-15 minute chat about dogs.
At a certain stage of success, I imagine that all actors have an internal debate about whether to act like a regular joe in public. Just saying good morning could turn into a thing. Glad it worked out well for all three of you.
Still acting? Heck, I wasn’t even sure that he was still breathing. I mostly identify him from his time on Leverage. Scanning his Wikipedia entry, I am reminded of his episode of Star Trek: The Next Generation.
