Is LSAT same for Canadians?

Just a quick question for anyone who may know…

Is the LSAT which is administered in Canada identical to the one administered in America? I know they’re both administered by the same organization, but I just want to make sure that I buy the appropriate prep material.

Thanks in advance for any answers.

The Law School Admission Council’s website implies that there is a single test:

Nothing that I could find on the site suggests that there are different tests for different locations. Since the test generally covers analytical skills and reading comprehension, and is administered in common-law jurisdictions, there is really no reason for separate tests.

When I took the test, I understood that it was the same for the U.S. and Canadian common law schools, regardless where you took it. (The LSAT wasn’t a requirement for the civil law schools in Quebec. One Quebec school, Université de Montréal, at that time had its own pre-admission test, but I don’t recall that it was a long or detailed as the LSAT.) Nor do I recall any questions that were specific to the U.S. legal system. As brian says, it’s intended to measure analytical skills, not pre-existing knowledge of the legal system.

However, I took it a long time ago, so you may want to dig some more, just to be sure. Simplest way to do it may be to call the law school(s) that you’re thinking of applying to.
