That was … surprisingly explicit for something so prudish. I mean, they not only used the word “sex” and had what can only be construed as a pearl necklace/facial joke! Is that a first for mainstream comics?
It’s more sexually explicit than anything I can recall seeing in newspaper comics.
And I can’t remember the last time I saw fictional characters in any medium talk about how far they’re ready to go, as opposed to taking an all-or-nothing approach to sex.

It was apparently too much for the Huntsville (AL) times, because they cut Saturday’s comic out of the paper (Sunday’s was back in). Had to find it on-line. Considering the couple of days before it were published, I was surprised (wonder if they got complaints from folks).
