I have the recovery cruisebook from the USS Hornet recovery of the Apollo 11 recovery. (I worked at a yearbook company that produced it in 1969) How can I find out its worth, if any? It was produced for the ship’s crew, so I imagine the number produced is limited. Any one have a clue? Thanks!
I’d say you should check with these guys or these guys. They can probably tell you the value of it, might even hook you up with a buyer.
I’ll give ya $10 bucks right now!
I don’t know about valuable, but it sounds damn cool!
Thanks Tuckerfan. I sent them off an email and will await a reply. I knew someone would come through!
are you a University man?
If so, donate it to your Alma Mater. Ask for them to assign a value to it for tax purposes. Universities love stuff like that, & tend to be “generous” in the size of their estimates.
If you’re thinking of donating the cruisebook, please consider the U.S.S. Hornet Museum. The museum maintains the ship, which is
moored at Alameda Point in the San Francisco Bay Area. Their contact information is:

Hello, I know this is a shot in the dark after all these years. You wouldn’t happen to have that book still? My Dad was on the Hornet when they picked up the Apollo 11. Someone stole his truck and his cruise book was inside. He talks about that book all the time. I have been trying to find him another one.
**Ted B **- the guy with the book has an email address in his profile. just click his name & then select the “contact info” tab.
Ooooooooh. Cooooooooooooool.
I have no idea of what it might be worth, but in sheer coolness it’s way up there.
Apollo brains from space!
Agree with the cool factor.
