Is my headache from dehydration or no glasses?

Today, I went to the gym and pool.
While at the gym, I drank water, but perhaps less than suggested.
I then went to the attached pool, but less my glasses in the locker, so I spent a bunch of time in the pool basically half-blind. Also, squinting most of the time because it was bright.
After about 75 minutes, I got out of the pool and went home. Maybe an hour after I left the pool, I was at dinner and noticed a headache.
Headache went away about 3 hours after it showed up.

So, dehydration headache or no glasses for an hour headache?

Why can’t it be both?

Cut gatorade (or its equivalent) half and half with water to restore electrolytes and fluids, and put a bag of frozen peas over your eyes. Take some aspirin, have a nice lay down, and you’ll be right as rain.

Can’t do corn syrup, so gatorade is right out. Not sure if there are any zero-corn alternatives.

I like the thinking, maybe it was both.

For me, when I get dehydration headaches it usually feels like an internal throbbing inside my head. When my glasses get bent and they pinch my head it feels more along my skull.

Another good way to restore electrolytes is [del]Brawndo![/del] mix a handful of sugar, a pinch of salt, and a liter of water. Shake and serve.

I do a lot of walking and gardening out in the sun, and in spite of wearing a hat and sunglasses, I often get a headache from this. My husband swears it’s dehydration; I think I drink a lot, but I suspect you need a lot more fluid than you realize in summer.

I make weak Kool-Aid to drink while gardening; that does seem to help. Maybe I should toss a pinch of salt in there, too.

I’m not sure, could you hold your head a little closer to the monitor.

For those who prefer a specific (flavored) recipe, here, you can just mix the dry ingredients, and use 1/16 of the final volume per one cup for half-strength.

This is offtopic, but I have to mention this. I am impressed by the comments on the related Cola and egg video. Maybe the fight against ignorance is working.

Fuzzy vision + glare + dehydration = headache.

I highly recommend prescription sunglasses. Oh, and drink more water. But not the pool water.

Medical threads, including those seeking diagnoses, treatment plans, or even just anecdotes, go in IMHO.

I’ll move this thither for you.
