I’ve got an IPhone 11that functions perfectly…with one exception. It won’t shut off.
Anyone got a fix? If there was a way to pull the battery I suspect that would work, but I don’t know if that’s possible.
Thx.

The Force Restart command is volume up, volume down, hold side button.
If that doesn’t work, plug it into an Apple computer or a Windows PC with “Apple Devices” installed on it.
What exactly do you mean by “power off”: just blanking the screen (can be woken up immediately, calls and messages still come in), or completely shutting it down (must boot back up again, takes a minute or so)? What steps are you performing to try to shut it down?
Older iPhones/iOS versions brought up the “shut down” control by holding the screen-lock (right side) button for several seconds. On newer models (X, Xs/Xr, 11, etc) you have to hold the screen-lock button and one of the volume control buttons (either, doesn’t matter which) to bring up the shutdown/emergency call screen.
If the buttons don’t do it, there’s also the option of going into Settings → General. There’s a “Shut Down” command at the very bottom of that menu (after some
Scrolling).
Obviously if your right-side screen-lock button isn’t working, you’ll have a hard time turning it back on if you shut it down via Settings.
Is there an Apple Store nearby? If so bring it there and ask one of the staff. You might want to schedule an appointment so you’re not waiting too long.
Settings>General>Shut down
It is the last item on that list.
You can just plug in your charger and the iPhone will power on.
Let the battery run down to 0% ?
“Hey Siri, power off.”
Not yet, but we can take it back behind the shed and finish the job for you.
“First, let’s make sure it’s shot.”

"OK, now what?
Heh, that actually works. Siri asks for confirmation and a “yes” reply leads to powering down.
Where is the OP?
WAG they got it to shut off. But now it won’t turn back on.
That’s why I suggested going to the Apple Store.
