Is my son growing Pot?

Yes, your son is growing pot.

A ‘friend of mine’ has seen it with 11 leaflets. I think at that point, it acquires luck, just like a four leaf clover!

Posting that link, assuming the OP’s story is true, and I have no reason to believe otherwise, strikes me as being uncomfortably close to a public confession to a presently existing possibly criminal circumstance. If I were a mod, I’d probably make it go away. Might also suggest more careful consideration of potential downsides in posting similar things in the future.

he is growing champion size pumpkins as well, which is something i did when i was in collage. And i really mean pumpkins.

Is there a rule against that?

I’m not sure. I see no benefit to leaving the thread up, given that the question has been answered. I see possible adverse consequences for the OP if the thread remains. Not saying anyone should be warned or anything. Might call it a “Best interest of the Board” ruling. If the call was mine to make. Which it isn’t. And I tend to be…conservative…with things of this nature.

Unless the OP lives in Malaysia, I wouldn’t be too worried…

I tend to err on the side of caution. A mod may well say the thread is fine. Just figured it was worth someone looking at it.

What did you major in when you attended “collage”?

Creative Writing?

(I assume that it wasn’t English)

My question is: How old is the son?

Art, obviously.

Go easy on the boy; maybe he didn’t plant it on purpose. A seed could have fallen out of a bag of the cheap ditch weed he buys…

I can’t view the picture in the link, but why not help him out and weed the garden? “I’m sorry, it looked like a weed!”

i majored in Graphic Design and Illustration at scad. Got 2 degrees in 5 years, I was one of few people in school to do no drugs. I was on enough legal meds that I thought it might be a good idea not to. Although i did drink alot.

Not old enough to go to jail.

Its only one small plant so it should be easy to get rid of

Definitely make sure you DON’T use any bloodmeal on it in the initial growings stages, as that has nitrogen and would promote healthy growth. Also, as it approaches flowering (when daily sunlgiht begins to approach less than 12 hours a day), be sure NOT to use any phosphorous rich nutrients on it, as that would increase the size and potency of the flowers… AND THAT WOULD BE WRONG!!!

Oh come on, there are whole boards dedicated towards nothing but giving pot-growing tips.

That’s true, and Cecil did a column about how to keep aphids from eating pot plants. The part that tingles my spidey-sense is the “here’s what I have in my back yard right now” element.

A photo on the internet of a pot plant grown by a teenager is probably about as much interest to law enforcement as a photo on the internet of someone running a stop sign.
