Is Nov. 6, 2015 a public holiday in China?

I’m going to be traveling in China for a few weeks this fall for work, and the person bringing me over mentioned that Nov. 6 is a new public holiday in China … but I can’t find any reference to it online at all. Has anyone else heard of this holiday?

Wiki says not to worry: Public holidays in China - Wikipedia

Our company has two subsidiaries in China so we have an internal scheduling system that shows when their days off are. There are no holidays in November, either national or traditional.

Thanks. I couldn’t find any other reference to it, either. I’m guessing my host is mistaken.

It’s possible the host was confused with September 3, which is a new holiday this year. Incidentally it’s still not showing in any of our calendaring and scheduling systems, despite us having had the day off.

(In typical Chinese fashion is was a screwup for our international colleagues, as the holiday was reported as the 3d, but also the 3d and 4th, but returning to work on the 6th. We only took off the 3d, worked the fourth, and didn’t have to give up a Sunday in the office.)
