Is pollution necessary for survival?

Really think about it before answering.

First define “pollution” and “survival.”

Survival of the pollution? Sure, because without pollution, pollution wouldn’t exist. Therefore, if pollution spreads and multiplies, there would be more pollution-ensuring it’s survival.

Eventually pollution will mutate and evolve into higher organisms. I call them by one of my ex’s names…

I’ll offer my encyclopedia definition for environmental pollution (if it’ll help):

Any discharge of material or energy into water, land, or air that causes or may cause acute or chronic

Is this a quiz?

One life form’s waste is another’s sustenance, so a limited amount of pollutants are necessary. But when we usually use the word pollution, I take that to mean excessive waste with which the ecosystem is unable to cope.

So my answer would be no. Pollution throws the ecosystem out of ballance and unless it is corrected.

Crap. Hit submit.

Any discharge of matrial or energy into water, land, or airthatcauses or may cause acute (short term) or chronic (long term) detriment to the Earth’s ecological balance or that lowers the quality of life.

Hmm. Neither Pravnik nor I can seem to finish our posts.

At least you can type yours.
