Is reduced sleep a common side-effect of being paralyzed?

I just watched a YouTube video of a young woman who is paralyzed (her lower-body).

She was saying that when she was paralyzed her doctors and other medical people didn’t tell her that she would not be able to get a full night of sleep. She said that she has not been able to sleep for more than two or three hours at a time in the ten years since she was paralyzed.

She acted as if this was a common side effect of paralysis and not just something that she experienced.

I’ll admit I’ve never heard this before now. Is this a real thing? And if so, why?

(Discourse is telling me there have been two AMA threads started by paralyzed people but both are over twenty years old, so I’ll post this as a new thread.)

If so, I wonder if it makes a difference if it is paraplegia or quadriplegia.

These acknowledge sleep disturbance issues in people with spinal cord injuries and mention possible reasons, including “In particular, spasms, pain, paraesthesia, and troubles with voiding were claimed to be part of the sleep problems.”
