The Random House Famous Name Finder doesn’t give an alternate name, for whatever that’s worth. And it’s pretty heavily double-checked.
But Nicolas Cage’s last name is misspelled on the back cover, and
I’ve found some goofy-ass mistakes in it: Jeff Smith’s birthdate, Nathan Lane’s nationality, etc., so it’s not totally reliable (and what source is?).
(I know her fact-checker/proofreader, and while he’s good, he’s not perfect.)
Why do you ask?
He was born June 29, 1947 in Englewood, New Jersey, or Brooklyn, New York, to Bill (a caterer) and Blanche (an actress) . Either way, he went to Dwight Morrow High School in Englewood.
He earned a degree in marketing from Ohio State University in 1970.
If he was ever called anything but Richard Lewis, high school or college records might help you out.
If it helps, I like to call him “Pum’kin”. (That’s a joke - I do not know Richard Lewis.)
