Is rubiconproject causing my problem?

I’m travelling and on my sister-in-law’s home network. The website (DrudgeReport) that has served as my home page for years won’t load…it says it’s waiting for t-cdn.rubiconproject.com or something like that.

I’ve had the problem all week. In the middle of that time frame I was at a hotel a few miles away and had no problem at all. Now I’m back and having the same problem.

Any thoughts? It’s probably not a bid deal as I will be headed home in a couple days and am willing to bet the problem will go away.

That’s an ad network. It’s more likely to be a symptom of your problem than the cause.

Clear cache and cookies in your browser. Then try setting the DNS servers on your computer to use Google DNS.

Rubiconproject uses javascript ads. Periodically they’ll have problems where instead of just displaying you’ll get windows message prompts “do you want to open ‘tap.rubiconproject.com’ or’ token.js’”. So if they have mangled ads again I can see how it could fail to load a page.
