Is Star Trek: TOS available on DVD/Blu-ray in the original, unenhanced version?

The question is in the title.

Yeah, it’s nice seeing Star Trek with modern effects. But I think the enhanced versions lack some of the charm of the originals. It would be nice to have an ‘as-filmed’ set of the series. (Though I’m not a huge enough fan to get VHS.)

I haven’t bought the blu ray set, but this review indicates that the blu ray set contains both the remastered and the original episodes.

I rely on High Def Digest for all my blu ray purchases, their reviews are the best I’ve found.

The Blu Ray season sets have both versions. I own them so I can confirm this.

What do you think of the blu ray set, I’ve been thinking of buying it, but I already have the DVD set.

Thanks.

I actually love them. When I bought them I expected to watch the “new versions” once and watch the classic versions but in reality I found the opposite is true. They look great and the updated effects are well done for the most part (you can see they did get better as they went along).

I had the DVD sets as well and I think these are worth getting as replacements. Especially if you can get them at a reasonable price.

Something else that’s cool: if you get Season 2 it contains the DS9 Episode Trials and Tribble-lations as a bonus.

Did they remaster it? It would make sense if they did. There aren’t too many effects, and it has so much TOS footage.

It’s one of the episodes that makes me lament their not going on to remaster the post-TNG Star Trek.

I’m not 100% sure but it looks good either way.
