Is staying up late inherantly "bad" somehow?

It’s interesting how different people’s perspectives are, based on their own experiences.

When my parents come to visit me, they consisder me slightly lazy because if left to my own devices I tend to get up at 9:30 am. I’m sure lots of you would consider that outrageously early!

Before they retired, they got up at 5:30 am every day – for decades. In their retirement they allow themselves to “sleep in” – to 7 am.

I love to get up at about 3:30, go grocery shopping, and then come home and go back to bed. Of course, I can only do that on the weekend, but it just makes for the best sleep! Then you still have the whole day to do daytime stuff!

Remember, I don’t sleep much, either, so I know what he’s up to. He doesn’t have a TV in his room…he sneaks downstairs to watch Cartoon Network, then falls asleep in front of Dragon Ball. We don’t get any “dirty” channels, and anything non-animated bores him silly, so I think I’m pretty safe for now.

I’m always hoping that he’ll start reading more when he can’t sleep, but I can’t force him. Maybe next year…sigh
