My sister used to wear dresses to the office all the time. When people would ask why, when the dress code was very relaxed, she said, “I don’t have to put much thought or match. I don’t have to iron. I open the closet and they’re just hanging there, ready to be worn.” Hang them back up when you’re done, and ready for the next time. A trip to the dry cleaner now and then, and you look professional and still take less time to get ready than most folks. Although when she went to work for Fender guitar, the culture was such that casual made more sense.

Very true! The dress I wore today was essentially a long shapely T-shirt with pockets. You can’t get more comfortable than that.
I like informal dresses. I used to refuse to wear jeans as a kid. But it’s harder for me to find ones that fit well, particularly there are issues with my bust and finding an appropriate bra. If I were proportioned a bit differently, I would wear them a lot.
This is an issue I have with formal wear, too. There’s really only one bra that works for me and it’s an Ennel sports bra. So any dress I wear must work with the bra. I have tried a million other kinds of bras. They never work.
I tried using a strapless bra at the last wedding, it was more an underwire corset bustier kind of thing and I was in so much pain we had to leave early.
I don’t do pain.
