I don’t know if it’s still true, but when I lived in Salt Lake City there were two PBS stations, both associated with universities – KUED was the one affiliated with the secular University of Utah, while KBYU was associated with the LDS Brigham Young University. I quickly learned that KBYU censored its fare, while KUED ran it uncut. I was surprised to see that KBYU even censored the WGBH/Granada version of Sherlock Holmes!
On the other hand, KBYU had the good taste to run Rocky and Bullwinkle, something I haven’t seen elsewhere on public broadcasting. Uncut, of course.
