Is the bible true/god real?

Perish the thought! For me, it started with the Bible (Have you read it?). But I thought, maybe for some time there was still come other kind of God. But eventually, those thoughts went away too. Nothing to be sad about, I live a damn good happy life, and am surrounded with loved ones who share similar thoughts as I, and some who don’t, but that is okay too.

We both have truths.
Are mine the same as yours?

Yes. And facts can be circumspect relevant to issues that are otherwise debatable and generally considered as facts, but because they’re facts and you don’t like the facts, more research is needed.

Because obviously we need to redefine the facts, if for no other reason than to keep us from jumping off a bridge.

How am I doin?

Yes and Yes!

I find it interesting that most belivers just replied yes and yes. The nonbelivers felt that they had to explain why

I would love to hear an explanation from believers. Especially one that makes sense.

The Bible is mostly myths and the opinions of Iron age primitives. God is an impossibility; blatant nonsense like Santa Claus except much more evil and even less plausible than Claus is.

Not well at all really - come back when you’ve read up on the topic.

No and no.

Up yours, Rocky Dog.

Ya know what? We don’t owe you shit. It’s not my job to turn you into someone who believes in a higher power. If you think “religion” means getting a blumpkin on Sunday morning, then fine, no prob.

But stop the general attack against those who choose to believe. It always comes off to me as pure pettiness… kind of a “sour grapes” thing.

Why is there such a fervor to denigrate or deny a God?

Doesn’t surprise me at all. If you apply reason and logic to the question, the unavoidable answer is no. The flat “yes and yes” answer is indicative of unquestioning acceptance, whether it makes any sense or not.

Hmm… You obviously don’t have the capacity for circumspection.

Facts such as?

cir·cum·spect
/ˈsərkəmˌspekt/
Adjective
Wary and unwilling to take risks.
Synonyms
cautious - wary - prudent - careful - discreet
I think you were looking for a different word here.

Because the believers won’t leave the rest of us alone, and cause great harm to the world. And because this thread asked our opinion; it doesn’t take much “fervor” to respond to a question.

Someone remarks it would be nice if some believers would explain, and this is how you react? Your religion has certainly worked for you, eh?

Yes, it has.

I don’t think that word means what you think it means - or applies to what you think it does.

Come back when you’ve read up on things a bit.

No.

No.

Because this would be a really boring ass thread if people only answered yes and no.

For me, it’s no and no. No explanation necessary because we don’t owe anymore shit either.

Obviously.

For you dullard pedants, the words used in that reply were meant to be a mockery of the quote cited.

Oh, but you knew that, ay?
