Let us know when your wedding is and who you’re forced to marry. And where you’re registered.
And as far as the schools are concerned, it’s teaching respect for other life styles that affect you not in the least. Something you might want to learn.

I understand that. However, they don’t want to be near them. That needs to be respected as well.
Did you serve? I did. I’m an atheist who entered the military out of patriotism and a desire to better myself. From what I gather, you know nothing about atheists except what you hear from bigots who believe atheists and atheism are inferior and evil.
Let them move, then!
Some Americans don’t want to be near black people. Does that “need to be respected”?
Some Americans want to expel all Muslims from the country. Does that “need to be respected”?
Some Americans think the federal government has no authority and that they can seize control of public land by force of arms with impunity. Does that “need to be respected”?
Not every belief needs to be respected - in fact, some of them ought to be actively and explicitly disrespected, because they are toxic and harmful to the prosperity and advancement of a free and peaceful society.

(You will note that iiandyiiii and I are in full agreement on this topic. This should really tell you something.)
Sometimes a wish is not granted in the way the wishee desired.
Thank you for your service.
Yeah, they are shit out of luck. You need to be a millionaire to live in Manhattan these days, and Brooklyn is filling up quick.
All those homosexual college grads with fancy Ivy degrees and great new jobs will be flooding into Queens and Staten Island soon enough! When your friends see their new neighbors mincing down Astoria Boulevard, opening boutiques and cocktail lounges and fancy coffee shops and dildo stores, they’ll snap faster than dry firewood.
I get that. However, on the Muslims thing, it’s a reaction to Paris, San Bernandino, and 9/11. Have you not forgot what happened on that day?
No it doesn’t. Why should anyone respect the opinions of these halfwit bigots you surround yourself with?
Why do you even hang out with these assholes in the first place? Find a better class of friend. The ones you have now are trash.
I remember what happened on that day, and it was committed by a small handful of extremists whose idealogy was in no way comparable to those the overwhelming majority of Muslims, in the US or worldwide.
Would you be comfortable with expelling all Christians from the US because of the actions of Eric Rudolph, or the Bundys, or the KKK?
I visited London with my family in 1985. I was overwhelmed how many Muslims wearing burkas I saw. I found it strange then. I find it strange now, mainly as poor-styled fashion, but I don’t think that someone who wears one is going to shoot me or blow up a building.
Is that how you feel when you see Muslims dressed in traditional clothes?
I understand that, but name one product or thing in the U.S. that Muslims have created or done to make America a better place. Name one Muslim celebrity or singer that changed America. Name one thing.
No, I don’t. The actions of Daesh makes it seem so to a lot of Americans. They have not done anything to make America better. Have you seen a Muslim-American Army general?
Near who? Gay atheist members of the military? That’s easy: don’t invite 'em over for dinner.
I don’t need to respect that. Frankly, I’d think less of one of my friends that held views like that.
The Sears Tower was designed by a Muslim architect.
Dave Chappelle.
Mike Tyson.
Muhammed Ali.
Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.
Reza Azlan.
Shaquille O’Neal.
I could go on.
Why a general? Thousands have served the US for centuries:
Youtube, the tallest building in the world for forty years, and the Wu-Tang Klan.
Could you answer whether you think that people that don’t think black people should have equal protection under the law should also be respected?
GloryDays, I fear you are mistaken both about atheism and Christianity. Christ said nothing about hard work, going to school, building on society. He said the world was about to end, and you should give away all your possessions and follow Him. He did support marriage.
Atheists believe that this life is the only one we get, so it matters. And so atheists care a great deal about building on society, and improving this world. And they (mostly) believe in education and hard work to do it.
I’m rather surprised that more Christian churches don’t back the liberals. It is the liberals (mostly Democrats) who believe we have an obligation to feed and clothe the poor, as Jesus taught. And to love all men and women as our brothers and sisters. Many churches were instrumental in the civil rights movement. I’m not sure how the Republicans managed to convince such a large swath of the electorate that they are the party of God, since it seems obvious to me that the war-mongers and benefit-slashers are on the other side.
Maybe it’s all because of sex. The Democrats are more often the party to leave personal matters behind closed doors, and live and let live. But Jesus talked about our obligation to the poor an awful lot more than he talked about sexually immorality. You might want to go back and re-read the gospels.
