Do we think now that if we could have actually kept schools segregated and close to equal that segregation would have been the better choice, or is working toward inclusion and breaking down the barriers that have us see fellow citizens as “the other” the better goal and worth the struggle?
I think it’s clear in your proposal that even if it were done, many people would still continue to see it as a statement that SS couples weren’t quite as good as OS couples and did not deserve the term marriage. You say it’s not true and not the ntention but you must beieve that whatever vague benefit you see coming from it outweighs the harm done by haveing a portion of our society feel left out and not treated equally. correct?

Excellent. And since these are, in your own words, exactly equal, you won’t mind switching the names. Same Sex couples get to have a “marriage”, Opposite Sex couples couples get to have a “civil union.” They’re exactly the same, so nobody should mind this, right?
One child gets to cut the sandwich…but the other child gets to pick which half to take. 
If people are going to stop getting married because the gays are getting married, and if those people are of the belief that you can’t have children outside of marriage, would that mean that the people who feel so contaminated by the gays would stop reproducing?

Apparently there are only three states - ND, SD, MT - that do not at least have a relevant lawsuit in process, if not yet a court ruling. But that’s easy to fix.
