Is the hunt still on for Lisa Gheradini's tomb and bones?

Is the hunt still on for Lisa Gheradini’s tomb and bones? I have not seen any articles in years on the subject. Has anyone conclusively stated that they have found them? The aim was to recreate her face from the skull and prove conclusively whether the face in the Mona Lisa portrait matched that of the remains.

The tests were inconclusive. Lots of bones were found and only a fragment was shown to be from the relevant time period.

Thanks AK84. I’ve seen some dissenting comments on her status, stating that she was not a noblewoman. Are these statements false? Most reports I’ve seen state that she was a noblewoman.

Depends on how you define “nobility”. That changed in time and place, often within the generation. She was a merchant’s wife but her maiden name; Gheradini was indeed one for a powerful and indeed noble family in Tuscany and northern Italy (they are still around today), but her own father was not particularly wealthy or influential.
