Is the famous skech of Jon Cleese and the Two Ronnies, outlining the English class structure, avaiable on a DVD anywhere? They stand in a row arranged by height, and Cleese explains he’s the upper class and looks down on them, etc.
The sketch appeared in a series called “The Frost Report”, hosted by David Frost. I have had a trawl through the internet and cannot find any mention of copies of this show for sale, in any format. Here are some details of the show :- Frost Report
Thanks for looking. I wonder why it’s never made it onto DVD? As **Struan ** comments over on the other thread, it’s been shown repeatedly since then, so I would have thought someone would have tried to make a few quid off it.
The sketch wasn’t just a one off. It was on every week and covered the differences between the classes concerning the subject of the week. That is why it is so well remembered.
One item that could be an issue is the fact that a little more than half the run of the Frost Report no longer exists.
Are you sure? I can only remember one version. This is the classic " I look up to him, but I look down on him". I cannot ever remember it being used on a weekly basis with variations.
There are clips of it within this clip: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MgA4K-bnwh0
I liked the Lucas/Walliams skit they did when they were called “Mash and Peas”.
Walliams: I’m a heterosexual. I look down on them
Forgettable middle guy: I’m bisexual. I look up to him (Walliams). But I go down on him (Lucas).
Lucas: I’m a homosexual… I know my place.
Yes the same setup was used nearly every week. The best remembered example of the running gag was the episode about “Class”. The fact is confirmed here however a surprising number of people insist it was a one off.
