His suits are about two sizes too big, they look like they are off-the-rack from Men’s Warehouse. I’m a woman of size and used to wear too-large suits because I thought they hid bulk; about a decade ago a knowledgeable Talbot’s saleswoman got me into my correct suiting sizes and I (think) I look a lot better.
And I surely am not a billionaire (well, he probably isn’t either), but he certainly could afford a tailor? I do think he’s gained weight over the past year and the billowy, ill-fitting clothes make him look even larger.
Trump has in the past mentioned, on several occasions, that he always buys his suits off the rack; he just didn’t like the idea of wasting money on tailored suits. It’s visibly obvious that a properly fitted suit makes a hell of a difference, and you might think it weird Trump won’t drop a few thousand on a decent suit but will gild everything in his apartment, but people are funny about what they think is a waste of money and what isn’t.
As to whether he’s gaining weight, it has to again be borne in mind that Trump is quite old, the oldest person ever elected President for the first time. At his age, he doesn’t have to necessarily change his eating habits or golf habits to see a weight change. Another health issue could result in sudden weight gain - congestive heart failure, for instance, causes fluid retention and swelling in a manner not easily distinguished from ordinary weight gain if you’re just looking at someone standing there. Or a hundred other things.
i would have preferred a President with gravitas rather than gravity.

I saw a hardback book about Trump in a book store recently. I don’t catch the title or the author. But the intent of the book was “Trump is our Savior” On the cover he was drawn wearing a suit & tie, but with a cartoon superhero look. The steely gaze, thick chest and V-shaped torso. It may be as simple as in Trump’s mind, bigger is always better. An oversized suit makes him look oversized. He’s big; you’re not. And that’s all the far his ego-addled mind has thought about it.

Pelosi mistakenly says he’s morbidly obese.

“While BMI is not a perfect assessment of one’s health, when someone is clinically obese and has other risk factors, that significantly raises the concern for having heart problems,” CNN chief medical correspondent, Dr. Sanjay Gupta explained."
BUT!!! That article also says he already had been diagnosed with heart disease.
Why the hell would he take hydroxychloroquine? He probably isn’t, in my opinion.
He’s pretty fat - a lot fatter than 243 pounds, of course - but he was pretty fat before, so I’m not sure he’s gaining weight.
