Is the Ultimate Crisis Earth Prime Superboy virtually a God in the DC universe?

I just purchased and read the Ultimate Crisis series this evening -

Re earth Prime Superboy. He is so much more powerful (seemingly by orders of magnitude) than anyone at this point and being “outside” the universe is invulnerable to the usual Superman nemeses of Kryptonite, magic etc. Is he essentially a God at this point?

Oh…also how did he use “ice breath” in outer space.

The only reason New Earth K doesn’t effect him is because it is from a different frequency than him. Have we seen him go up against magic?

Then again, he altered reality by punching it in the face* so maybe he is a bit godly.

*Okay, not really, but that image amuses me.

Yeah, his fight with Black Adam.

My take on the magic thing is that he since he was getting a continuous line of yellow solar energy (via his armor) his powers were kicked up a notch. Also, magic at the time wasn’t very reliable, and Superman’s always shown an inconsistent level of resistance against magical strength.

If the Spectre wasn’t sidelined and crazy at the time, he probably cou;d have done very nasty things the SB’.

And it’s Infinite Crisis.

What’s an Infinity among friends?

No, the ultimate god of the DC universe is the Publisher. Below him is the Editor, and then there are several demiurges all called The Author. Yes that’s within continuity.

Like that time when the two writers started up the Cosmic Treadmill that Flash left in Julius Schwartz’s office the time he (Barry Allen) was stranded in the “real world” and they ended up with incredible reality altering powers on Earth-1 and Earth-2…

OK, I’m an old Superman fan from circa 1960 to 1972. Then I discovered both National Lampoon and girls.

Is there a single resource that can bring me up to speed as to what’s now going on in the Superman universes? I never encountered the “Crisis” or “Crises” or any stuff like that, and have only vague recollections that there was an alternate earth that had the old-fashioned “Flash” with the winged helmet in it, along with Black Canary and Zatara and a few other things like that.

Dopers here have tried to explain it to me, but if there’s a source I can purchase that could round out my knowledge, I’d enjoy knowing about it.

Try the Wikipedia article. Anything it doesn’t answer it’ll probablylink to.

Wiki’s list of DC’s cosmic entities .

While Superman Prime makes the cut, Superboy is notably absent.

Also, my simulpost with Otto’s combined to punch time in the face.

Time out. I thought Superboy Prime’s deal was that he was the only superhero of his world. No Wondy Prime or Superman Prime, just SBP. What the heck?

He was actually the second hero of Earth-Prime (the first being Ultraa, although, IIRC, Ultraa had moved to Earth-1 by the time Superboy came about).

‘Superman Prime’ is actually the Post-Crisis Superman, in the 853rd century, after spending god-knows-how-long sitting in the middle of our sun (actually, I just looked it up 15000 years), while his decendants carried on the name. From DC 1,000,000, which was an interesting concept, ruined by Superman Prime, and the general lameness of most of the tie-ins that were closely tied in with the story - the best tie ins were Young Heroes in Love, Lobo, and Supergirl - although whichever Batman book took place in the 853rd century wasn’t too bad, either.
