God, not goddess – the supreme being of Zoroastrianism.
He is often misclassified as a sun god, which may be the rationale for naming a light-bulb after him.
God, actually. And the truth is more complex than that.
Ahura Mazda, sometimes clipped to Ormazd, is the beneficient god in Mazdism, AKA Zoroastrianism. He is contrasted with the co-equal but weaker evil god Angra Mainyu, usually clipped to Ahriman.
The Toya Cork Kogyu Co. Ltd. was a Japanese manufacturer of machine tools in the 1920s. They decided to begin making vehicles, starting in 1931 with a light utility tricycle truck called the Mazdago (upper right photo in link). This gave rise to the Mazda make of automobiles, and the company changed its name to Mazda Motor Corp. in 1984.
The Edison Mazda light bulb was the first bulb made with a drawn-tungsten filament, and was a trademark. (See bottom two pictures here.)
