I just wonder sometimes, I mean the guy invented them ferchrissakes, yet I am not aware of any light bulb company or fixture company, etc. that bears the name Edison.
There is a lamp screw base named after him.
You usually have bayonet fitting ( BC )or Edison screw ( ES )lamps.
There used to be - the Edison Mazda lamp.
Edison formed the Edison Electric Light Company in 1878 and it became General Electric in 1892. Perhaps G.E. dropped the Edison name when light bulb design advanced past Thomas A’s contributions.
Screw the lightbulb! He’s got a HUGE electrice company and electric production named after him!

Yes, that’s how they’re designed. What’s your point? :D:D
OK, so it seems there are several regional electric supply companies and lighting fixture companies. I really didn’t doubt that. I think aseymayo answered my question, though.
After all we have Singer sewing machines, Otis elevators, Ford cars, Bell phone companies, you get the idea. Yet when I think of a light bulb, I think Sylvania, or GE, or Phillips. Well, there’s always Edison, NJ.

But, at least here in Chicago, the electric utility is working slowly but diligently to remove any reference to Thomas A. Edison.
Commonwealth Edison has always been informally called Com Ed (like Consolidated Edison in New York is commonly called Con Ed) but now the company has formally changed its name to ComEd (no space). And the holding company that owns ComEd and some other energy-related companies (for example, a district cooling system in downtown Chicago) is named Unicom. No sign of old T.A. Edison in sight.
