I tried Google, maybe there’s a better source for these things but I use rather minimal addons so I’m unaware of it if such a site exists. Basically what I want is something that would (or at least attempt to) show you the number of pages on the current webpage you’re viewing. I’m not picky about where, probably on the status bar near “Done,” but whatever. This would be useful for viewing very long text documents such as that one and deciding whether or not to print it. I realize I can do this by pasting it into a word processor, but I just wanted to see if I could avoid the extra step. Nothing fancy something that just says “on page 6/10” or even “10 pages” would work.
There’s no need to paste it into a word processor. File > Print Preview will tell you how many pages it is up at the top.
:smack: Would you believe through all these years I’ve never ONCE noticed a print preview button on any browser?
Anyway, the request still stands, but that helps, thanks (unless you’re about to tell me it’s in “options”).
Look at the scroll bar. If it’s tiny, the document is long. Or just use GreenPrint; it’ll act like a print preview for any program, and you can remove unneeded pages.
It’s quite likely that such an addon does not exist. The number of pages is very specific to printer and page settings, so you would have to display it for whatever the current printer and page settings are and I’m puzzled as to why would anybody ever want this. The height displayed has very little bearing on the number of print pages, and often times a document that is only a couple of screen fulls will be over a dozen pages long if printed.
