As many know, I am trying to go back to school. I will need to brush up on my high school math if I am going back to school. I did well enough in high school, doing all my maths and earning an 80% average, but it’s been over 10 years, so of course my skills are a little rusty. I’d rather not pay an online university to redo my high school maths, I probably could study it well enough on my own. Is there a good method book or websites that would cover all of my math to prep me for a return to the university world?
I would need to know things like quadratics, binomials, matrices, triginometry, etc. I’m in Canada so I guess the equivalent here is Math C30.
Khan Academy is excellent, and has things conveniently organized by topic. If you like his videos, I also recommend Derek Owens who also has a growing library of math and physics videos in a similar style (but with a little planning put into them.)
Another good resource is Wolfram Alpha, which can show you the solution plus steps to a wide variety of algebra problems, in case you get stuck and need a clue.
ETA: With all that said, if you need to brush up, I strongly recommend you get a textbook with a large set of problems to practice with. Over the summer I had a re-learn a lot of algebra and pre-calc to get placed into calculus this year, so I bought a College Algebra textbook and worked through a lot of the problems. It was money well spent.
Another good resource for asking math questions is the Mathematics Stack Exchange. They have a growing library of questions from very elementary to advanced-level stuff. Plus if you want to ask questions there you get to practice your TeX sk1llz.
